Free Coaching for Medical and Engineering Aspirants Launched in Manipur

In the latest development, the Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, recently launched a state-sponsored coaching initiative that funds free coaching for medical and engineering entrance examinations. This is a welcome step in enhancing access to top trending courses in the northeast Indian state of Manipur.

With leading institutes like Aakash Educational Services and FIIT JEE joining the program, 63 selected students will receive free coaching. Every student will be provided with tablet devices to help them participate in interactive virtual classes, making it easier to access top trending courses in India.

The initiative is divided into a first intake, where 33 students will prepare for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, aimed at admissions in medical fields, while 30 will prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination, focusing on engineering courses.

This program is part of Manipur’s current educational reforms under the School Fagathansi Mission, through which 120 schools have already been upgraded, with plans for another 120 in the pipeline. The state is also strengthening its higher education infrastructure via the College Fagathansi Mission, enhancing accessibility to top professional courses and the best online courses in various fields.

Additionally, the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme has been introduced, offering 76 positions for the youth of Manipur. This opportunity includes a one-year internship with a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000, providing hands-on learning experience, akin to top trending courses in India that blend theoretical knowledge with practical training.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced the upcoming publication of a general knowledge book, titled “Know Manipur,” which will offer a comprehensive view of the state’s rich history and culture to young minds.

At the launch event, ministers, MLAs, the Chief Secretary, and representatives from partnering educational institutions were present, marking a significant step forward in improving educational access through free coaching across the region.
